XBMC is a free multimedia player of open code that is compatible with diverse audio formats and works in up to twenty languages. But XBMC isn't just a music player, it is more a multimedia centre that includes a songlist, a viewer (that can create skins), slideshows and options to know the weather.

You can also update news groups, view games that work in your XBox, get information on your system and organize files.

XBMC also includes support for ZIP and RAR files, has a client server for FTP and the resources needed to transmit files from one PC to another via a LAN, and also directly via the Internet. XBMC is ideal to watch videos, listen to music and look at photos.
